Les Coppedge

Lawrence Lester “Les” Coppedge of Miami, OK passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Claremore Veterans Center in Claremore, OK. He was 83.

Les was born September 5, 1933 in Vinita, OK to Lawrence and Agnes (Lester) Coppedge. He was a lifetime resident of the Miami, Picher and Vinita area. He graduated from Vinita High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Real Estate Agent and Dance Instructor. He had been a member of the Picher Lions Club and was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene of Miami, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters Mary and Nancy.

Les is survived by his wife Melissa Coppedge of the home, his setp-children, Wesley Forgey and wife Sissy of Afton, OK, Dustin Forgey and wife Ashley of Carl Junction, MO, and Haley McKibben and husband Chuck of Miami, OK, 4 brothers, Bill Coppedge of Las Vegas, NV, Joe Coppedge of Bolivar, MO, Ron Coppedge of Vinita, OK and Bob Coppedge of Langley, OK and 2 sisters Peggy Colquitt of Wagoner, OK, and Sue Schwartz of Tulsa, OK, his sister – in- law Becky Bender of Miami, OK and 9 grandchildren

Graveside services will be Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK. Rev. Casey Hollingsworth and Rev. Joe Coppedge will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Grove Veterans Ritual Team. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami.
