Terry Mitchell

Mr. Terry Lee Mitchell, 61, of rural Pineville, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, October 23, 2016, in the comfort of his home after a lengthy illness.

Terry entered this life on December 14, 1954, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, the only child of the late Barney E. and Mildred I. (Moon) Mitchell. He was raised in Kansas, Oklahoma and was a 1973 graduate of Kansas High School. He attended trade school in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, for mechanics. On February 18, 1979, in Rogers, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Stites and to this union two sons were born. In 1984 they moved to a farm in the Simsberry Community in rural McDonald County. Before being self-employed in the agriculture industry he spent thirteen years with Walmart working in warehouse numbers 2&4. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and simply being outdoors. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jane were he also served as Deacon.

Terry is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Mary Ellen Mitchell of the home; two sons, Henry Mitchell and wife, Melissa, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Wade Mitchell and wife, Amanda, of Anderson, Missouri; six grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Mitchell are 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jane, Missouri, with Bro. Hank Gorman officiating. Burial will follow in the Simsberry Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Henry Mitchell, Wade Mitchell, Evan Baker, Steve Edster, John Edster and Jacob Blakley. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Memorials are being directed to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Samaritan’s Purse or Show-Me Children’s Home and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
