Shirley Daugherty

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Shirley Etta McReynolds-Daugherty born January 7th 1939 to Ray and Ruby McReynolds, passed on October 4th after a brief illness at 77 years old.

Shirley attended Seneca schools minus her sophomore year as she always smiled while she told us how she enrolled in Neosho schools to pursue her lifelong partner, Ted Daugherty. They have been married for 58 years. Of this union Mark (Cindy) Daugherty, Kent Daugherty, LaDonna Daugherty-Parmley (Jim) all of Neosho. Her firstborn grandson, Nathan Daugherty, preceded her in death in March, 2008. The following surviving grandkids are Brian Daugherty, Michael (Kaysha) Daugherty, Alan (Meghan) Daugherty, Jesse Parmley, Lindsey Parmley, Jace Parmley, Zach (Harmony) Thomas and Josh Thomas, along with six great grandkids. Survivng siblings include Judy & Bobby Martin, Marcie & Larry Prater, Larry & Gayla McReynolds, Galen McReynolds. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Fisher & Karen Murray along with her parents.

Ted and Shirley both accepted the Lord in 1966 at Cave Springs Baptist Church. For 40 years they have been active members of Calvary Baptist of Neosho. Every Sunday after church she and her family could be found at Wendys. She took great pleasure through the years of attending her children & grandchildren sporting events, many times toting a camcorder on her shoulder. She always enjoyed her weekly visits with her mother and sisters, labeled as the 'do nothing gang'. She loved to play the piano and sing thru the years, writing several songs herself. Due to a loving husband who always worked hard to provide all the needs of his family, mom was always a phone call away at any time. She will be missed greatly.

Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
