Lettie Juanita Smith, age 77 passed away at 5:43 pm, Saturday, Oct 8, 2016 at Galena Nursing Center, Galena, KS following an illness.
Juanita was born Dec 13, 1936 in Joplin, MO. Her parents were Ernest Charles and Rose Mae Evelyn (Haynes) Adamson. She moved to Galena 40 years ago.
She was a member of Empire Mission Church, Galena, KS. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and camping, and sharing time with her grandchildren.
She was married to Raymond T Smith in December, 1968. He passed away July 23, 2016. She was also preceded in death by one son, Johnny Owen, one daughter, Brenda Owen; her parents; two sisters, Goldie Irene Adamson and Marie Cusick, and two brothers, Ernest Adamson and Junior Adamson.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Kersey, Galena, and Lenita Hignite, Joplin; one step son, Raymond Smith Jr (wife Shirley), St Louis MO,; 3 sisters, Gerald Bookey (husband, Bill) Keys, OK, Martha Green, Climax Springs, MO, and JoAnn Powell, Joplin, MO; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
