Albert Keifer

Albert Jonas Keifer, 94, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, at Autumn Place.

Albert was born June 15, 1926 in Kiowa, Kansas to the late Ernest Keifer and Emma (Farney) Keifer.

Albert was raised in the Joplin area and graduated from Joplin High School. After high school Albert proudly served his country in the United States Army. Albert then began his long career as a clerk with the local United States Post Office, retiring after 30 plus years.








Traveling abroad was one of Albert's favorite pastimes. The city of Paris held a special place in his heart. During his travels Albert enjoyed getting to try new foods, especially desserts as he had a sweet tooth. 

In Joplin, Albert could be found walking the mall daily and then enjoying friendship, a cup of coffee and Chick-fil-A in the mall food court with his fellow walkers. Albert never missed an opportunity to spend time with family and cherished the memories he created with loved ones. He enjoyed sharing history, stories of his life and playing cards and chess. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents Albert was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Keifer; a sister, Anna Eck; and niece Betty Spencer.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen Whitlow and husband, Lon; grandchildren, Caleb Whitlow, Micah Whitlow and Zachary Whitlow and wife, Kyle; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Sharon Sperry and husband, Clint, Rita Peabody and husband, Mark, Lucille Devore, Jerry Keifer and wife, Linda and David Eck and wife, Kelly; great nieces and nephews, Brock Peabody and wife, Amy, Jennifer Rhoades and husband, Jason, Elizabeth Clark and husband, Travis, Natalea Wininger and husband, Jason, Stephanie Church and husband, Wade, Stacey Peek and wife, Penny, and Jackie Spencer; fourteen great-great nieces and nephews; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Webb City, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
