(From Carson-Wall Funeral Home)Paula Susan “Dawn” Larery, 57, of Pittsburg, died at 7:56 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2021 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. Death followed brief illness.
She was born September 1, 1963, in Parsons, to Paul W. and Barbara (Williams) Larery. She grew up in Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School. For many years the Larery family was active in the Faith United Methodist Church in Parsons.
Dawn earned a Bachelor in Nursing degree from Pittsburg State University and for many years was employed as a nurse both in Pittsburg and in Joplin. She had been retired several years.
Her interests included hiking and camping and exploring the mountains in the western United States. She especially loved animals.
Survivors include a special friend, Susan Lutz, of Pittsburg; her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Pat Larery of Carthage and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and a brother, Jerald Larery, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday and again from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
