Joe Malcom

Joe Bob Malcom, 87, entered into rest on April 11, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Malcom was born June 12, 1934 in Collinsville, Oklahoma, the third child of Edgar and Edyth (Hines) Malcom. He lived most of his life in the Neosho, Missouri and Miami, Oklahoma areas and was a graduate of Neosho High School Class of 1953. 

Mr. Malcom and Joan Maples were united in marriage on August 28, 1953 near Eureka Springs, Arkansas; she survives.

Mr. Malcom had a successful career in the U.S. Military where he served in the Korean Theater training troops in Germany and continued his service in the U.S. Operation Desert Storm before retiring as Chief Warrant Officer -4. 








Upon retirement he lived in Miami, Oklahoma and operated various businesses ranging from a repairman to a vending machine business. During his retirement, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 67 years, Joan, Mr. Malcom leaves behind four children: Mark Malcom and wife, Barbara of Grove, Oklahoma; Terri Fulkerson and husband, Steve of Petersburg, Virginia; David Malcom and wife, Brenda of Dillwyn, Virginia and Larry Malcom and wife, Anna of Hopewell, Virginia. Six grandchildren: Steve, Michelle, Amy, Ashley, David and Mark and sixteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by five siblings, two sisters and three brothers.
