(From Lakin Funeral Home)Joyce Priest, age 90, of Payette, ID, formerly of Stotts City, MO for over 60 years, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her daughter's home in Payette, ID. She was born in Stotts City, MO on Friday, December 12, 1930; daughter of Fred and Beulah (Graham) Garoutte.
She was married to Alton Priest on Friday, May 15, 1959 in Idaho.
Mrs. Priest was a homemaker and farmer for many years. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with family. Mrs. Priest loved and took care of many types of animals-dogs, cows, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and guineas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stotts City, MO.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Terry) Morrison of Payette, ID, Penny Longstreet of Meridian, ID, and Linda (Jim) Riddle of Summerville, SC; two brothers, Emery (Darlene) Garoutte of Diamond, MO and William (Helen) Garoutte of Stotts City, MO; one sister, Kay White of Greenfield, MO; twelve grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren, and many other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Priest was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Beulah Garoutte; her husband, Alton Priest; a son, Keith Reitz; and a son-in-law, Tom Longstreet.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church, Stotts City, MO on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
Services will be at First Baptist Church, Stotts City on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
