(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Allan Dale Bond, 72 of Goodman, MO passed on Friday, April 29, 2022. Alan went to be with his Lord and Savior at 5:15 a.m.
On Sunday, June 5, 1949, Allan was the second child born to Clyde O. and Esther M. (Miller) Bond in Joplin, MO. Allan was a 1967 graduate from Riverton High School in Kansas. In 1968 he joined the U.S. Navy and served four years. During those four years he spent two tours of duty in Vietnam.
Allan returned to Riverton, KS in 1972 and was employed by Teledyne in Neosho, MO for 37 years and retired in 2010. This is where Allan met and married the love of his life, Cheryl A. (Friend) Bond on July 22, 2004, and she survives of the home in Goodman, MO.
Allan is survived by his wife and father Clyde O. bond of Riverton, KS. Additional survivors include two sons, James Bowman of Portland, OR and David Bond (Ranell) of Coeur d’Alene, ID; three daughters, Lisa Gudgen of Pittsburg, KS, Angela Goodwin (John) of Parker, KS, and Alicia Bond (Wade) of Caldwell, KS; two stepchildren, Brian Friend of Joplin, MO and Chelsey Mittag (Josh) of Joplin, MO; 23 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Mike Bond (Lynn) of Texarkana, TX; two sisters, Roxie Ward (Dave) of Diamond, MO, and Linda Stark of Riverton, KS; mother-in-law, Rose Mary Austin of Goodman, MO.
Allan is preceded in death by his mother, Esther Bond; sister, Liana; granddaughter, Gabriella; brother-in-law’s, Glenn Stark, and Rick Friend.
In his younger years Allan was an avid softball player. He enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, fishing, and riding his Harley. Allan was a Christian and loved his Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2022 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Pastor David Bond will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lowell Cemetery with military honors. Family will receive friends from Noon until service time on Monday at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Pallbearers for the service are Randy Harmon, Roger Burkhart, Terry Durbin, Cameron Gudgen, Hunter Green, Blake Green, Docker Bond, John Goodwin, and Josh Goodwin. Honorary pallbearers are; Beckham Bond, Jace Goodwin, Lucas Friend, Steve Hollaway, and Wes Bentz.
