(From Ferry Funeral Home)Virginia Anne Frazier, 79, Nevada, MO passed away on Wednesday, May 04, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Virginia was born July 9, 1942, in Nevada to William E. and Ruth E. (Penisten) Frazier.
Virginia was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1960. She attended Southwest Baptist College in Boliver and Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, OK.
Following college her first job was as a Child Welfare Worker for five years in Joplin, MO. She lived in Denver, CO for five years and in 1976 moved to Shawnee, KS where she worked for 32 years in a church preschool.
Following her “retirement”, she moved back to Nevada and worked in Sunday School at the First Baptist Church for 11 years, and in the YMCA Childcare for several years before her 2nd “retirement” in 2021. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and games, drawing, painting, machine embroidery, and making cookies. She especially loved being able to visit the Holy Land in 1984 with her sister and mother, traveling by train through Europe. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Nevada.
Virginia is survived by two sisters, Carol Bice, Colleyville, TX, and Sharon Wyckoff (Wiley), Nevada; nieces and nephews, Michelle Thornhill, Bella Vista, AR, Michael Davolt, Nashville, TN, Grady Davolt, Columbia, MO, and Jason Wycoff, Springfield, MO; several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Virginia’s family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Nevada with a Celebration of Life Service following at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Kevin Daugherty officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. Friends may call now and until 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
