Robert Eugene Herron, age 72 of Joplin, passed away at 12:36 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin following a short illness.
Born February 20, 1941 in Joplin, he was the son of the late Floyd C. Herron and Villa May Morgan Herron and was a lifetime Joplin resident. He worked in construction and worked part-time for Mount Hope Cemetery.
On March 18, 1997 he married Tammy L. Anderson Herron at Miami, OK. She survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Mary Fox of Joplin; three sons, James Herron and wife Susan, Robert Herron, Jerry Herron and wife Sandy, all of Joplin; two step daughters, Brenda Poe of Joplin and Jennifer Poe; a stepson, Bobby Poe of Grand Lake; ten grandchildren; and six step grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. A private family gathering will be held at the mortuary.
