Phyllis White

Phyllis Arlene White, age 63, Joplin, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2013 at her home after a short illness.

Phyllis was born April 16, 1950 in Joplin to the late Harry White and Hazel Rickey White and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.

She owned and operated the State Line Flea Market on Highway 171 North of Asbury for several years. She sold the business in 2010 but has managed the business ever since. Prior to the flea market, she had worked in home health care for many years.

Phyllis was a people person and will be missed by all that knew her and by her family. She was a former member of the Church of Christ, 26th and Connecticut.

She is survived by a son, David Halliburton, Kansas City, Kansas; one daughter, Crystal Lowery, Oronogo; four grandchildren, Crystal, Haley, Amber, Hayden; one great granddaughter on the way, Lyric Arlene; and her aunt, Odie Patterson, Joplin.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Allen; and a sister, Charlotte.

Graveside services are planned for Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Denny Carver will officiate. Pallbearers will be J.D. Talley, Blake Talley, Mark Lowery, Nathan Hazley, Rob Elfrank and Eric Rickey. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at Parker Mortuary.
