Richard (Dick) Lon Rush, 76, passed away on August 28, 2015 in Leawood, Kansas. Dick was born October 12, 1938 and was a long time resident of Carthage, MO. He was the son of Emily (Machac) Rush and Lon Rush who preceded him in death. Dick was a graduate of Carthage High School and then attended Kemper Military School. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church while living in Carthage and was also a very active member in the Rotary Club.
Dick was preceded in death by two wives, Linda Locarni Rush and Kay Rush and also a daughter Sheryl Rush Vinson.
Dick is survived by two daughters, Sarah Rush Lashley, Overland Park, KS and Shelly Rush, Carthage, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter, as well as two sisters MaryAnn Busch, Chicago, IL and Nancy Kirkpatrick, Phoenix, AZ.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 11:00 am till noon in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services will then be held at 1:00 pm in the Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage, MO. Father Steve Wilson will officiate. Memorial gifts are suggested to the National Alzheimer's Association in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W. Chestnut Street, Carthage, MO 64836. Inurnment will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage, at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
