Dorothy Tillman

Dorothy Elaine (Sizemore) Tillman age 84 of Galena, passed away at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO at 4:55 PM on February 7, 2018.

Elaine was born in Columbus, KS on August 21, 1933 to the union of James Hershcel Sizemore and Dorothy Orvilla (Wilson) Sizemore. She had lived most of her childhood in San Diego, CA before moving back to Cherokee County in the early 1950’s. She worked for many years at the Miller Garment Factory in Joplin, working there until the early 1980’s, and was a member of the Galena Assembly of God.

She was married to Onis Tillman, Jr. in Bentonville, AR on November 21, 1952. Together, they enjoyed traveling and fishing. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2013.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, James and Dorothy; and one sister, Jamie McDougal.

Survivors include one son, Norman Tillman (wife, Melinda) of Galena; three brothers, Dennis Robertson (wife, Melinda) of Phoenix, AZ, Gary Robertson of the State of California, and Jon Robertson of the State of Florida; two sisters, Mahauta Keller of the State of California, and Shirley Morgan of Mankata, MN; three grandsons, Aaron Tillman (wife, Tabitha) of Galena, James Tillman (wife, Brittney) of Galena, and Ryan Tillman of Columbus; and eight great-grandchildren, Tymon, Noah, Zane, Remington, Jaxon, Legion, Elyn, and Lexi.

Mrs. Tillman has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. The family will hold a memorial service on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Galena Assembly of God Church.
