Dorothy A. Zerbonia, 82, Carthage, MO, passed away late Tuesday evening, February 13, 2018 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. Dorothy Anne Sanders was born January 8, 1936 in Jasper County, MO to the late Jess Sanders and Stella (Chrisman) Sanders. She graduated from Sarcoxie High School, Class of 1953. She worked on the production line at Juvenile Shoe and Justin Boot in Sarcoxie, retiring in 1993. Dorothy married Frank Zerbonia on February 26, 1953 in Eureka Springs, AR; he preceded her in death on February 2, 2002. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Carthage.
Survivors include two sons, Danny Zerbonia (wife Gloria), Sarcoxie, MO and Dennis Zerbonia (wife Becky), Carthage, MO; one daughter, Glenda Pippin (husband Perry), Carthage, MO; one step daughter, Mary Pruitt, Indio, CA; four grandchildren, Aaron Zerbonia, Amanda Witt, Valerie Snodgrass, and Alex Zerbonia; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one step daughter, Sharon Kerr, three brothers, Don Sanders, Joe Sanders and Ted Sanders, and two sisters, Evelyn Thorn and Betty Wilson.
Visitation will be held 6-7 pm, Friday, February 16, 2018 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held 10 am, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Knell Mortuary. Rev. Charles Chrisman will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Taylor Cemetery, Sarcoxie, MO. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
