William Burton McCorkell of Wyandotte, OK passed from this life Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home. He was 83.
William was born June 28, 1934 in Ottawa County, OK to Burton Lankford and Dot Elizabeth (Jonsson) McCorkell. He had lived in the Seneca and Wyandotte area most of his life. He graduated from Seneca High School in Seneca, MO in 1952 and then served in the U.S. Army. He had worked for the Miami Police Department for several years, B.F. Goodrich in Miami and then owned and operated McCorkell and Son Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Ruth Ann Able and Marilyn Lahar.
William married Dixie (Crow) McCorkell September 25, 1955 and she survives of the home. Additional survivors include his son Larry McCorkel and wife Gwyn of Wyandotte, OK, a sister Marsha Enyart of Wyandotte, OK, his brother-in-law Billy Able of Miami, OK, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services will be Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastside Baptist Church, east of Miami, OK. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK. Online condolences may be made at www.paulthomasfuneralhomes.com
