Geneva Louise Burdge Smith, age 73, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Spring River Christian Village.
Geneva was born August 6, 1944 in Joplin, daughter of the late Charlie Burdge and Esther Mae Bresee Burdge. She attended Carl Junction Schools, and married Warren Lee Smith on July 30, 1964. She was a homemaker, a stay at home mother to five, and a member of Hornet Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on January 28, 2001. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her children, Paul Smith and wife Angelica, Brad Smith and wife Angie, Scott Smith, Kristy Lujan, and Sara Smith all of Joplin; grandchildren, Amanda Day and husband Josh, Katie Smith, Haden Smith, Wyatt Smith, Tate Smith, McKenzie Smith, Hunter Smith, Harley Smith, Kinna Lujan, Drake Lujan, Landon Smith, and Gage Smith; one great-granddaughter, Brynlee Garrett; a sister, Norma McCoy of Joplin; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10:00 am. in the Hornet Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Kurt McCrorey officiating. Interment will follow in Hornet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
