Fredine E. Tarvin-Haddock was born November 7, 1920 in Wheaton, Missouri, the daughter of Fred and Katherine Amelia (Long) Tarvin. She entered into rest on February 24, 2018 in Neosho, following a short illness at the age of 97.
Fredine was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Neosho High School in 1939. She had worked at the telephone company in Neosho and then worked with her husband, James in the insurance and real estate business. During WW II, Fredine volunteered as a Gray Lady and with the Red Cross and was a swimming instructor at Fort Crowder. She was a member and past president of Fortnightly Study Club; a member and past officer of Chapter BT-PEO; was recognized as 'Woman of the Year' by the Soroptimist Club; had volunteered with PTA and 4-H. She was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church and served as delegate to District Conference for many years and was a member of the UMW.
Fredine and James Haddock were married on Jan. 28 1940 in Neosho and he preceded her in death in 1997. She is survived by four children, Eric Haddock; Deanna Swift and husband, Dr. Ron Swift and Mary Lynn Ranz all of Neosho and Joyce Hollmann and husband, William of Huntsville, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, David Milligan and wife, Patty; Brenda Bolton and husband, Kevin; Kathleen Orris and husband, Sands; Missy Brown and husband, Jeff; David Swift; Jacob Ranz, Rachel Ranz; Heather Cain and husband, Jon; Kelly Langhoff and husband, Kyle; Tobin Hollmann and wife, Cara and Erica Coney and husband, Jason; thirteen great grandchildren, Riley, Erin, Bailey, Ashley, William, Foster, Jake, Emily Cain, April Cain, Kate and Brady Hollmann, Ava Langhoff and Brayden Coney. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Cheeka and two sisters, Marcella Corl and Katherine Tarvin.
