Eugene George, “Bubba”, Schwartz, Jr. of Joplin, passed away on Feb. 17, 2018 at the age of 54, following a seven -year struggle with ALS.
Gene was born Nov. 15, 1963 in Fort Smith Arkansas. He graduated from Neosho High School in 1982, where he was an All-Conference and All-District football player. He graduated from MSSU in 1992 with a business degree and had worked for American Central Transport Company (ACT) in Kansas City, MO, before moving back home to become vice president of sales for K & S Wire Products in Neosho. Gene loved to fish, hunt and laugh and did so as much as possible!
He is survived by one son, Nicholas Schwartz and fiance’ Kristy Jackson and their beloved dog, Sadie; parents, Alma Rowland Schwartz of Joplin; Gene Schwartz, Sr. and wife, Cynthia of Neosho; one sister, Sheila Parsons and husband, Jerry of Stillwater, OK and one brother, Grant Schwartz and wife, Ann of Joplin; three nieces, Savannah Parsons, Kennedy Schwartz and Sophia Schwartz and one nephew, Spencer Parsons; his godmother, Aunt Betty Kreutzer of Pleasanton, CA.
A service of remembrance will be held at Clark Funeral Home’s Chapel of Memories on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at 6:30 pm, with visitation to follow until 8:30 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at 1 pm at St. Canera’s Catholic Church in Neosho, Father Derek will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Ramsey, Garrett Ramsey, Calvin Jones, Scott Whittington, Tim Story, Joey Versluis, Spencer Parsons and Jerry Parsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Gene be made to the ALS Association, Mid-America Chapter, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
