Jerry Leonard Clemons, age 71, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Freeman West surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born June 14, 1946 in Joplin, son of the late Leonard F. Clemons and Bonnie J. Hunt Clemons. He graduated from Carterville High School, and worked for the Joplin Sheltered Workshop for 43 years before retiring in 2010. He was very fond of the staff and friends he met through A.O., and enjoyed dancing at the ATA Hall. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Philadelphia Phillies. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Roger, and a sister, Nancy.
Survivors include his three sisters, Linda Murrell and husband Larry of Columbia, Missouri, Kathy Redeagle and husband Tom of Joplin, and Vicky Carnes of Carthage; brother, Jim Clemons and wife Kathy of Joplin; several Aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and two great-great-nieces.
Funeral service will be Friday, February 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Luke Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
