Barbara Moore

Barbara J. Moore, 74, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at her residence in Jackson, TN, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on November 22, 1950, in Lamar, MO, one of seven children to the late Jack and Pauline Capp Brous. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.

Barbara built her career as a shipping manager at Bruce/Armstrong Hardwood Floors. After “retirement,” Barbara went to work for Kroger, where she was a Starbucks barista. Her incredible work ethic earned her the affectionate nickname of "Busy B," reflecting her loyal and dependable nature, as well as her generous spirit.

Barbara loved to prepare family meals and pies “from scratch”. She cherished the time spent hosting family gatherings, especially during the holidays. Her dedication to her family was evident in everything she did. Barbara’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cared for them deeply and selflessly.

Barbara was an enthusiastic sports fan. She and her husband were proud season ticket holders of the Tennessee Titans. Barbara was also a passionate University of Tennessee Vols fan. She cheered her grandchildren and their friends on through many games, no matter the sport and this same competitive spirit is what kept her going through her battle with cancer for over a decade. She was everyone’s “Nana” and had a way of connecting with people that made them feel seen and loved.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Keith Moore, her parents, Jack and Pauline Capp Brous, her sister Karen Hardy and her brother Danny Brous. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Greg Moore; her daughter Cindy Minnis and her husband Gary; her beloved grandchildren, Coleman and Carleigh; her son Keith’s partner Kassandra Hernandez and their son Dante; her brothers, Jim Brous and his wife Robyn, Calvin Brous and his wife Bonnie, and Ken Brous; her sister, Staci Scarberry and her husband Rick and her brothers-in-law, Greg Hardy and Brad Moore and his wife, Manda.

The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Kirkland's Cancer Center, 720 W. Forest Ave., Jackson, TN 38301.
