(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Barbara Joan Becker , a longtime Miami resident and business owner, passsed from this life Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch Nursing Center in Joplin, MO. She was 90.
Barbara was born August 4, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to Van Orville “Vic” and Vivian (Spencer) Freese. She had lived in Joplin, MO for the past 20 years moving from Miami, OK. Barbara graduated from Miami High School class of 1952 and attended Oklahoma University in Edmond, OK for 2 years. She owned and operated Oklahoma Furniture Discount House in Miami, OK for over 40 years. She later worked at the Miami Public Library in the Genealogy Department from 2006 to 2022. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Miami, OK.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Joseph Becker and her parents.
Survivors include 1 son, John F Becker of Catoosa, OK, 1 daughter, Vicki Jo Waggoner and husband Scott of Shell Knob, MO, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK. Pastor Leon Weece will officiate.
