Jason Belmont

Jason William Belmont, 79, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, service, and unwavering love for his family.

Jason was born on August 25, 1946, to Jess Alowishes Belmont and LaNelle Caldwell. He attended school in Ogden, Utah, before continuing his education through the military in El Paso, Texas.

On September 21, 1977, Jason married Patricia Smith, in El Paso, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and dedication, raising six children who remained the pride and joy of his life.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 49 years, Patricia Belmont; his children, Kimberly Snyder and husband David, Michelle Rumans and fiancé Fred, Shannon Smith and husband Denny, Jason Belmont and wife Katie, Kristina Garrison and husband Jeremy, and Shaun Belmont and wife Lindsay. He also leaves behind 23 cherished grandchildren and 23 beloved great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.

Jason is also survived by his sisters, Jessie McMillan and Rosemary Smith, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sisters, Joan Belmont and Kathy Zimmerman.

Jason proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he worked in guided missile control systems. His commitment to service continued throughout his life as a volunteer with the fire department in Timberon, New Mexico, a role he treasured deeply. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, where he formed many lasting friendships and remained committed to serving others.

Professionally, Jason spent many years working as a mechanic and as a supervisor with Moark, before retiring.

Outside of work, Jason found his greatest joy on the farm. He loved caring for his cattle, working the land, spending time with his dogs, and embracing the simple pleasures of country life. He never met a stranger and was known for his gift of storytelling, his easy conversation, and his genuine interest in the people around him. Whether sharing a laugh, lending a helping hand, or offering advice earned through experience, Jason made those around him feel welcome and valued.

Though his family mourns his passing, they take comfort in a life lived with purpose, honor, and love. His legacy will live on through the generations he helped shape and through the many memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him.

Jason’s family will honor his life during a graveside service with full military honors following his cremation. His interment will take place on his 80th birthday, Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Neosho Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate a life well lived and to remember a man who gave so much to those around him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
