Sarah Rubottom

Sarah Mae Rubottom was born on March 1, 1932, in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of John Andrew and Sarah Elizabeth (Landers) Maxwell. She entered into rest on August 2, 2026, in Carthage, Missouri at the age of 94. 

Sarah was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Carthage High School. She had worked as a postal clerk for twenty-six years prior to retirement. 






Sarah loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, baking and doing puzzles and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and Missouri Tigers fan. She was a staunch Democrat. 

Sarah married Jack Rubottom and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2016. 

She is survived by three children, Terry Ann Turner and husband, Lesley of Battlefield, Missouri, Jim Rubottom and wife, Marty of Quincy, Illinois and Jeff Boy Rubottom and wife, Debra of Fidelity, Missouri; ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and two sisters, Shirley Harmison of Daytona Beach, Florida and Janie Dayringer of Burton, Ohio. 








In addition to her husband, Jack, Sarah is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abbey. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Oake Pointe in Carthage and Phoenix Hospice for the care given to Sarah.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
