(From Lakin Funeral Home)Jerry Lynn Pearce, age 86, of Pierce City, MO passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Aurora, MO. He was born in Crane, MO on Tuesday, February 6, 1940; son of Lloyd Sanders and Mary Malinda (Ellis) Pearce. He married Reta Alora Harris on Monday, December 23, 1968, in Cassville, MO.
He retired from Walmart after 25 years where he drove a semi-truck across the U.S. Jerry enjoyed driving but always looked forward to coming home to be with his family. He also liked riding his horses and square dancing. He participated in several trail rides over the years.
He was an avid sports fan always watching Nascar, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Watching Dale Earnhardt race was a favorite pastime. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pierce City where he helped with church security during services. He cherished time with his family and enjoyed playing with the grandchildren. He will be missed by many!
Surviving are the following: his wife, Reta of Pierce City, two sons, Stan (Mendy) Pearce of Monett, MO, Gary Pearce of Joplin, MO; two daughters, Terri (Kevin) Lucas of Monett, MO and Sharon Cleveland of Joplin, MO; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Susie (Ron) Pendleton of Marionville, MO; and many friends.

Welcoming Jerry to heaven was his parents, Lloyd and Mary Pearce; three children, David Green, Susan Pearce, and Rhonda Mettlach; and two great-grandsons, Cayde Lawson and Cooper Mercer.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
The Funeral Service will be at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Thursday, August 20, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM with Rev. Darren Caraway officiating. Burial will follow at Berwick Cemetery near Pierce City, MO. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
