(From Lawson's Funeral Home)Jamie Glenn Earp, 52, of Jay, Oklahoma, entered this life on September 14, 1973, in Grove, OK born to Jim and Janie Glenn Earp, and entered his heavenly home on August 5, 2026, alongside his son, Tucker James Earp, a reflection of the remarkable bond they shared. Words hardly seem enough to capture a man who lived big, stayed busy, and left his mark wherever he went.
The eldest of three children, Jamie was raised on the family farm in Oakhill, a place where his roots always ran deep. His dad instilled in him an entrepreneurial spirit, while his mom, whom Jamie was much alike, seemed to have a natural way of attempting to keep his onery self in line.
His childhood was full of the kind of mischievous adventures that stories are formed from. A passionate athlete, Jamie began little league football in 3rd grade playing alongside his brother Jud, until their high school years as #40 and #41. As a member of FFA, Jamie loved showing pigs and judging horses, being named a World Champion at the 1990 American Quarter Horse Association World Show. Leading to a horse judging scholarship to Redlands Community College, following graduating from Jay High School in 1992. He then transferred to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Haskell Indian College and later Missouri Southern to play football. Through it all, Jamie was close with his brother Jud and little sister Jana tagged along for all her brothers adventures, where Jamie was and remained to be a protective big brother. Through it all, he formed a close-knit group of friends whose bonds withstood the test of time.
Once returning home from college, Jamie worked for his dad in various capacities, built tanks, and then as an applicator for REC. During this time, Jamie met Treasa, and from the beginning of their relationship, it was built on the Lord. Jamie accepted Christ in 2000. They united their families when they married on August 31, 2001, bringing together Parker and Jenny and later completing their family with Tucker. Together they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and family. Jamie was the kind of husband that loved fiercely and worked hard to provide for his family. The kind of dad who taught even the toughest of life lessons by working alongside his children, supporting them in every season. No matter how busy life became, he was always in the middle of his kids’ happenings ready to show up, lend a hand, or drop everything when they needed him.
Jamie founded Earp’s Tree Service in 2006. Whether it was trees, brush, trucks, or equipment, Jamie knew how to get a job done, and there wasn’t much he couldn’t figure out, especially from the seat of a skid steer. He took great pride in the business he built and in “his guys” who worked alongside him through long days and tough jobs, becoming much more than employees along the way.
When the work was finished, Jamie loved to rope. Team roping was far more than a hobby; it was a way of life he proudly passed on to his children and grandchildren. Fiercely competitive, some of his proudest moments came from winning alongside his sons and supporting his daughter and son-in-law in their rodeo company. He took great pride in the arena and facilities he built at home, but he was perhaps happiest in his barn or outside with a good horse nearby, surrounded by family and friends.
Jamie also had an eye for a “treasure”. Others might have called some of it “junk,” but Jamie knew better. He saw value in things others overlooked, and that was true of more than what he collected. Jamie had a heart for people. He never met a stranger, enjoyed a good story and a good laugh, and had a way of making any gathering a little livelier simply by being there.

Of all the titles Jamie carried, “Grumps” was among his most treasured. His three grandchildren were truly his pride and joy, and no distance was too far, or too short, for time with them or a ride in the Yellow Truck. Whether it meant a trip to Texas or a quick drive just a few miles down the road, Grumps was happiest simply being part of their lives.
Jamie entered Heaven alongside his beloved son, Tucker James Earp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Janie Earp.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Treasa Earp of Jay, Oklahoma; his children, Parker Warner and wife Brogan of Post, Texas, and Jenny Jo Kijac and husband Tyler of Jay, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Olivia Lynn Warner and Kace Robert Warner of Post, Texas, and Truce McCrae Kijac of Jay, Oklahoma. As well as his sister, Jana Jay Haynes and husband Matt of Jay, Oklahoma; his brother, Jud Earp and wife Julie of Jay, Oklahoma; and, his step-mom, Betty Earp. Along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were made better simply by knowing Jamie.
Jamie leaves behind a life built with hardworking hands, a generous heart, plenty of stories worth retelling, and a family who loved him beyond measure. Despite tremendous sorrow, we know Jamie’s work here is finished, and that the love he gave, the laughter he created, and the memories he made will never be forgotten.
Jamie’s Celebration of Life Visitation to greet friends will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm at Mount Hermon Church, 42040 S. 670 Rd., Jay, OK 74346.
Jamie’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 2:00pm at Mount Hermon Church, 42040 S. 670 Rd., Jay, OK 74346 with Pastors James Bryant and Jeremy Colvard officiating. Followed by Jamie’s funeral procession to Mount Hermon Cemetery, Jay, OK.
Jamie’s burial will be held at Mount Hermon Cemetery, Jay, OK.
