Frances Krueger

(From Buchanan Funeral Home)

Frances S. Krueger, age 91, of Ste. Genevieve, MO, formerly of Monett, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 13, 2026, following a short illness.

Frances was born on March 1, 1935, in Fairview, Arkansas, the daughter of Cecil Elbert and Edith May (Hooten) Graham. She spent her childhood on the family farm near Garfield, Arkansas, where she developed a love of animals and became a serious student of cooking.

She was a graduate of Rogers High School, Class of 1953, in Rogers, Arkansas. On June 19, 1954, in Rogers, Frances Graham was united in marriage to Leroy Krueger. They were blessed with over fifty-seven years together before his passing.

Frances was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett, where she acted as the Church Secretary for 5 years. She also worked as a retail clerk for Wal-Mart in Monett for 28 years. During that time, she especially enjoyed quilting with the church's ladies' quilting group, going on outings with her friends who have a wicked sense of humor, and feeding every stray animal in the neighborhood. Frances relocated to Ste. Genevieve, MO, in 2019, where she joined the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, taught youngsters how to play pinochle, and continued to feed every stray animal in the neighborhood.

In addition to her husband, Frances was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Verda Mae Cline of Rogers and Betty Holt of Springfield, MO.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Trimmer, and husband Noel of Ste. Genevieve, MO, her many nieces and nephews, and the friends whom she held as dearly as family.

Though Frances’s physical presence is no longer with us, the memories she created, the love and joy she shared, and the lives she touched will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Visitation will be at Buchanan Funeral Home from noon to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett with Reverend James Schnackenberg officiating. Following the service, interment will be in McCormick St. John’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to McCormick St. John’s Cemetery or your local animal shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
