(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Tony Carrol Foster, age 78, passed away at 8:59 pm, Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
Tony was born September 9, 1947 in Joplin, MO. His parents were Charlie and Verna Dawne Foster. He was a lifetime resident of Galena.
He worked several years for the City of Galena as a trash truck driver, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed watching television, doing yardwork, and tinkering with his old truck.
Surviving are two daughters, Crystal Walton (Dustin Sr.), Galena, and Verna Dawne Burris, Baxter Springs, KS; 3 step-children, Aaron James Holmes (Hailey), Victoria Holmes, and Kurtlin Thuert, all of Joplin, MO; 6 grandchildren, Dusty Walton (Kelsa), Riverton, Felicia Barnes, Riverton, Zachary Walton (Makyala), Joplin, Tyler Lake (Krista), Baxter Springs, Hailey Jonnes (Isaac) Quapaw, OK, and Bradley Lake, Baxter Springs and several other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 4:00 pm, Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
