(From Lakin Funeral Home)Ronald Orvel Hampton, age 71, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at his home in Springfield, MO with family by his side. He was born in Polk County, MO on Wednesday, August 25, 1954; son of Orvel G. and Lois (Gorsuch) Hampton.
He worked for Bolivar Insulation several years and spent years power washing and cleaning. Ronald enjoyed watching westerns, was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, and cherished time with his family. He always looked forward to going to Nebraska to attend the Gorsuch family reunion. He will be missed by many!
Surviving are the following: his significant other, Sue Bryson of Springfield, MO; one son, Ronald J. Hampton of Springfield, MO; one grandchild, Rylie Mathis of Strafford, MO; one brother, John Hampton of Bolivar, MO; three sisters, Donna Young of Bolivar, MO, Bonnie Bays of Bolivar, MO; and Emma Volt of Arkansas; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Orvel Hampton; his mother, Lois Hampton; and a younger sister, Dixie.
Ronald was cremated at his request. The family has planned a Celebration of Life gathering at Doling Park at 301 E Talmage Street Springfield, MO on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Come share memories as we celebrate Ronald's life. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
