Charles Wayne Bettis of Seneca, MO passed from this life Sunday, August 23, 2026 at his home. He was 68.

Wayne was born August 28, 1957 in Joplin, MO to Charles Ivan and Bonnie Ellen (Fritchey) Bettis. He had lived in the Seneca area all his life and graduated from Seneca High School class of 1975. He was co-owner of C&W Auto Supply in Seneca, MO and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Seneca, MO.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Monica (Captain) Bettis on March 16, 2026 and his father Charles Bettis.

Wayne is survived by his son, Jesse Dewayne Bettis and wife Brianna of Joplin, MO, his mother, Bonnie Bettis of Seneca, MO and his sister, LaVeta Phyfer of Seneca, MO.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Captain Cemetery, east of Miami, OK. Mark Buzzard will officiate. Rick Fritchey, Denny Fritchey, Roger Chester, Alan Loehr, Lisa Kuhn and Leslie Kuhn will serve as honorary pallbearers. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity.
