James McClary

James Edward McClary, age 85, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at his residence. He entered this life on January 22, 1941, in Atoka, Oklahoma, born to the union of the late John and Josephine (Gail) McClary.

He was raised in the Oklahoma City area. James enlisted in the United States Army and served his country faithfully. After his discharge, he returned home to Oklahoma City, where he spent several years owning and operating A-Sure Shot Pest Control, with locations in Oklahoma and Missouri.








For the last fourteen years, James made his home in Bella Vista, Arkansas, where he enjoyed a quieter pace of life while remaining closely connected to the people he loved. He found joy in fishing, and he was known as a talented guitar player whose music brought happiness to those around him. He also loved telling others about Jesus, and his faith was an important part of who he was.

He is survived by two sons, James McClary of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and John McClary of Kansas City, Missouri. He also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Larry McClary, and a host of other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.








He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine McClary; his wife, Carol Sue McClary; five children, Janea and Jana McClary, Jamie Ellis, Jansen McClary, and Jack McClary; a granddaughter, Carol Dalrymple; and two siblings, Danny McClary and Diana Sanchez.

Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri, with Larry Graber officiating. Graveside services are 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Sunnylane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
