Denny Owens

Denny Leroy Owens, Sr., age 73, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2026.

He was born June 11, 1953 in Orville, California, the son of Arles and Ivy (Horn) Owens. On August 4, 1979 in Marionville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Joanne Brown, who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Denny Owens, Jr. and wife Amy of Greenfield, Missouri and Shilo Owens of Aurora, Missouri; daughter, Mya Owens of Aurora, Missouri; grandchildren, Jacob, Destiny, Tasha, Leslie, McKenzie, and Olivia; great grandchildren, Mary and Terry; siblings, Joyce Lane of Oklahoma, Don Owens and wife Lisa of Arkansas, Jeanie Peden and husband Billy of Green Forest, Arkansas, Penny Ackerman and husband John of Republic, Missouri, Gary Owens and wife Theda of Aurora, Missouri, Donna Bricker and husband Jack of Aurora, Missouri, and Margaret Koehler and husband Ernest of Verona, Missouri, as well as other extended family that include aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.








Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Ethan Owens; siblings, Ray Owens, Carol Smith, and Kay Veach.

Denny lived most of his life in Aurora, Missouri, where he also attended school. He worked in construction as a backhoe operator, digging many graves throughout Barry and Lawrence Counties. He also worked as a truck driver.

Denny was always busy doing something. He enjoyed working on small engines and lawnmowers, listening to old music, old cars, racing, and fishing. Denny attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.








Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Reverend Tony Martin will conduct the services. Burial will be at Sparks Cemetery in Butterfield, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time Thursday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to the family in memory of Denny.
