Ted Wayne Williams, 64, Nevada, MO, a former officer of the Nevada Police Department for 27 years, passed away on September 28, 2017 at Freeman West in Joplin, MO. Ted was born November 17, 1952 in Ft. Scott, KS to Lewis Richard and Nelda Undine (Shipley) Williams.
Ted was raised in Ft. Scott and attended school there graduating from Ft. Scott High School in 1970. Following high school he attended Pittsburg State University, and Ft. Scott Community College. Ted was a police officer in Pittsburg for three years before coming to Nevada in 1982. For the next 27 years he was employed as an officer of the Nevada Police Department. Ted enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, riding motorcycles, bar-b-ques, and cooking. He was also involved in martial arts, and weight training. Ted was a Masonic Lodge member in Pittsburg, KS. He attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nevada.
Survivors include one son, Kevin Williams and his wife Bethia, Carthage, MO, and their daughter Suzanne; one daughter, Kari (Williams) Mills and her husband Gary, Perry, GA, and their children, Emma Ellis, Madelyn Ellis, Braden Ellis, and Alyvia Mills; Ted was a special uncle to J.R., Randy, and Erik DeLaney, Krissie Cherry and her husband Joe. He is also survived by a special friend since 8th grade, Larry DeLaney and his wife Sam, Nevada; his mother-in-law, Jeanne Craig, Nevada; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Nevada with Rev. Chris Deines officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Orum Cemetery in Redfield, KS. The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Jackie Ray "Jack" Willoughby of Joplin, MO passed from this life of Sunday, October 1, 2017 at National Health Care in Joplin, MO. He was 68.
Jack was born January 26, 1949 in Farmington, MO to Eugene and Mable (Kniblack) Willoughby. He had lived in Joplin for 2 1/2 years moving from Webb City, MO. He was a member of Highway Tabernacle in Quapaw, OK.
Jack married Sherry Barbee on November 26, 1968. She survives of Dueneweg, MO. Additional survivors include 3 sons, Tony Willoughby and sife Edna of Joplin, MO, Brian Willoughby and wife Stacia of Duenweg, MO and Thomas Justice and sife Annette of Fairland, OK, 2 brothers, Vernon Willoughby of Quapaw, OK and Ronald Willoughby of Joplin, MO, 4 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Highway Tabernacle in Quapaw, OK with Rev. Ray Clonts officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, northwest of Treece, KS. Mr. Ernest Harold Young, 84, a longtime resident of Noel, Missouri, departed this life on Friday evening, September 29, 2017, in the comfort of his home after months of declining health.
Ernest entered this life on January 9, 1933, in Everton, Arkansas, son of the late Carl Everton and Lillie Myrtle (Bridges) Young. He was raised in Green Forest, Arkansas and was a graduate of Green Forest High School. He furthered his education at Freed-Hardman University in Henderson, Tennessee. On September 9, 1956, he was united in marriage to Natalie Jane Brady and to this union three children were born. In 1957, they moved to Noel, Missouri, where they lovingly raised their family. For nearly forty years he was employed by Aerospace Industries in Neosho as a machinist, retiring in 1996. He was also pastor of the Southwest City Church of Christ for several years. He enjoyed raising chickens, spending time in his garden and beekeeping. Ernest was a member of the Noel Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-seven years, Natalie Young on June 10, 2014; one brother, Howard Young; and three sisters, Edith Fultz, Ruby Briner and Joyce Clymer.

Lola Morgan, 85 years, of Goodman, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Medicalodge in Neosho, Missouri.
Lola was born in Jane, Missouri on February 7, 1932, one of eleven children born to the late M.J. and Mary (Allman) Nichols. She attended the White Rock Elementary and Rocky Comfort High School. Lola was a graduate of the Crowder College Nursing Program in 1979. She married Junior Morgan on March 26, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He passed away on November 9, 1975. Lola worked at the former St. John's Hospital in Joplin and retired from there in 1994. She then worked at Beverly Health Nursing and Rehab from 2001 to 2004; Oxford Health Care in Joplin from 2005 to 2008. Then retired for good at the age of 76 years and nine months. Lola enjoyed her years of nursing, but especially enjoyed retirement, with some traveling, but mostly staying around the home in her yard and garden with her three dogs and three cats. She preferred her home life and pets versus people.
Lola is survived by her three sons, Jim Morgan and wife, Sharon of Goodman, Missouri, Jerry Morgan and wife, Donna of Joplin, Missouri, Mike Morgan and wife, Gayle of Goodman, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters and a brother; along with a host of other relatives and friends that will dearly miss Lola.
Memorial service for Lola will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Goodman Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home.

Norma entered this life on October 22, 1931, on a farm in Otoe, Nebraska, born to the late Augustus and Amanda (Anderson) Meyer. She moved with her family to Noel, Missouri, as a child. On April 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to James Andrew Gideon and to this union four children were born. In 1960, they moved to the Bunker Hill Community in McDonald County where they owned and operated Bunker Hill Grocery for several years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cooking and aggravating her son in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Gideon on September 17, 2003; a daughter, Sharon Gideon; a grandson, James McCully; two brothers, Ed and Donald Meyer; and two sisters, Laverne Kennison and Betty Womack.
Norma is survived by her three children, Karen McCully and husband, Frank, of Granby, Missouri, Larry Gideon and wife, Diana, of Baxter Springs, Kansas and Florence Belt and husband, John, of Fairview, Missouri; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Martha was born December 23, 1934 in Milan, Tennessee to Percy and Mary Jettie Bronson. She worked as a certified nurse aide at hospitals and nursing homes.
She is survived by five sons, Danny Stevens, William Stevens, Edward Stevens, and Stacy Stevens, all of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Michael Stevens, Opolis, KS; five daughters, Mary Christine Devore and Thelma Williams, Mindenmines, Missouri, Wilma Bevenue, Liberal, Missouri, Donna Long and Debra Stevens, Pittsburg, Kansas.
Martha was preceded in death by a son, Randy Stevens.

Larry Kuhn

Larry Kuhn, age 79, of Lamar, Missouri passed away at his home Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Larry was born May 23, 1938 in Lamar to Lloyd William and Katherine Aurora (Dowell) Kuhn. After graduating Lamar High School in 1956, he moved to Springfield and attended Drury College and SMSU, where he graduated with two master’s degrees in psychology and sociology. On June 2, 1962 he married Mary Fesperman, the love of his life, in Bokoshe, Oklahoma.
Larry worked at St John’s Hospital Psych Ward during college and then for the Federal Government and Springfield Housing Authority. In 1975, he and Mary moved back to the family’s Century Farm, started in 1902. The farm was where his heart was, where he was raised with a strong work ethic, and learned pride in family. He and his two brothers lived together with their families on the farm, where they worked together in harmony to raise crops and cattle, and tend to the Kuhn Orchards.
In addition to his responsibilities on the family farm, Larry held a membership in the Metro Club and Lamar United Methodist Church, where he sang in the church choir during his youth He served his country in the Missouri National Guard for 9 years. As a member of Missouri Second Calvary Re-enactors, he enjoyed riding his horse Whizzer, in many events as well as speaking to schools about the Civil War. He and Mary taught Ball Room Dancing together. Larry also served on several boards including Board of Directors for Ozark Mental Health Council, Barton County Health Department, Farm Service Agency, and Barton County Electric.
Larry is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Mary; two sisters-in law, Betty Kuhn and Mary P. Kuhn. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews; Kim Kuhn, Richmond, Virginia, Michelle Dowell Kuhn, Lamar, Christian (Paul) Dowell Alberty, Olathe, Kansas, Mark (Hazel) Dowell Kuhn and son Harrison Dowell Kuhn, Enterprise, Alabama, Jacob (Annette) Kuhn, Lamar, Amy Kuhn, Carthage, Missouri, Sherie (Mike) Smith, Bill (Shelly) Ainsworth, and Jim (Mittie) Ainsworth, all of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; and a host of great nieces and nephews whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Roger, Dan, infant brother and grandparents Albert and Sarah Kuhn and Amy Dowell.
