McKay Harris

McKay Michael "The Monster" Harris, age 17, of Stella, Missouri, passed away Friday July 7, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born January 3, 2000, in Joplin, to Lonnie Harris and Veronica Ainsworth Harris.

McKay worked as a farm hand for Grassland Consultants.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Lonnie Harris.

Survivors include his mother, Veronica Harris, Neosho; his father, Lonnie Harris, and wife, Jennifer, Joplin: loving fiancé, Nicole Behrle, Bella Vista, Arkansas; a daughter, Olivia Harris, Bella Vista, Arkansas; one brother, Ryan Harris, Japan; a sister, Cambrick Harris, California; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is also survived by two puppies, Bo and Pup.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Saint Paul's United Methodist Church, with Pastor Aaron Brown officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Dice Cemetery in Fairview, Missouri. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House and may be left at the mortuary.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.

Aline Adams

Aline Adams left us peacefully on June 8, 2023, at the age of 98 years young. Granny, as she is best known, was born in Muleshoe, TX on April 2, 1925, to James H. and Maggie (Fimpel) Owen. As a young child she lived in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico where she discovered a love of horned toads and tarantulas. 

Her family settled in Fair Grove, MO where she met the love of her life John Reed Adams. They were married March 22, 1942. They moved to Lamar, MO where Reed worked for Lawn Boy. 

Aline was a homemaker and the proud mother of four children: Reeda McKay (Mac), Stan Adams (June), Karen Maples (Mike), and Daryl Adams (Becky). She was a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, and the Thea RHO sponsor. She joined the Calla Rebekah Lodge in 1954 and was an active member until the lodge disbanded well into her 90s. 

In 1962, Aline went to work at Barton County Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide (CNA) and remained there until her retirement at 70 years old. She worked in Labor and Delivery where she rocked multiple generations of babies in the nursery including two of her own grandchildren. 

After retiring, she worked at The Good Samaritan and went on several trips with the bank tours. She moved to Republic, MO where she could be closer to her family. She resided there until her death.

Her family was her biggest joy in life. She had 9 grandchildren, Jim McKay (Ase), Torre McKay Ricketts (Gordan), Shannon Adams (Ragala), Jake Adams, Brett Adams (US Army), Heather Maples, Terra Maples Butler (Bryce), Jami Adams (Kim), and Maggie Adams Harris (Rob); 12 great-grandchildren; and 9 great great-grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a 2:00 PM funeral service on June 16, 2023, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. After services, family and friends will be gathering at Chicken Annie’s at 5:00 pm where we are spending Granny bingo quarters on the chicken machine.

Nancy Clinton

Nancy Ellice Clinton, 66, of Frontenac, KS died at 9:58 pm Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Frontenac, KS following an illness.

Nancy was born August 19, 1952 in Chanute, Kansas. She was the daughter of Homer and Pauline (Mefford) Walker. She lived in this area most of her life and was a 1970 graduate of Pittsburg High School.
On February 13, 1973 Nancy married the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Clinton in Miami, OK.

She was a workshop Director at New Horizons for 20 years.

Nancy was a member of the Church of Christ in Pittsburg, KS and was also loved by her church family. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, bowling, cooking and spending time with family and most of all, her grandkids.

Additional survivors include her children Julie Clinton of Frontenac, KS, Robert Anthony (Kanah) Clinton, of Mindenmines, MO and Jennifer Tolley and husband Ryan of Frontenac, KS; brother, Joe Gwin Walker of Topeka, KS, grandchildren Dakota Lapping, Dawson Lapping, Ian Tolley, Cailyn Tolley, Oliva Harris, Johnnie Oliver Lee Clinton, Ivory Sky Clinton and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Lora Sue Manly, brother in law, Harvey Skip Manly and sister in law, Vida Walker.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac, KS with Jerry Kendall, Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 7-8:00pm Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Friskel Funeral Home; friends may call after 11:00am Tuesday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Special Olympics. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Friskel Funeral Home 230 E.
