Donna Cooper, 76, of Joplin Missouri, passed away on May 21st surrounded by her loving family.
Donna was born in Joplin Mo on August 23, 1938.
Donna worked at a variety of professions, including Restaurant Management, Property Management and a myriad of other occupations. Her most important role was raising her 3 Sons, and assisting in raising 2 of her grandchildren, and being involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives. Donna was a great and loyal friend to many and was always there for anyone who needed her. She loved cooking for family and friends with anyone and everyone invited to gather and partake. She was happiest working in her yard with children at play nearby, and visiting on her porch, or having coffee at the kitchen table with her sisters and many lifelong friends. She was exceptionally proud of the 2 story tree house she built for her great grandchildren just a few years ago.
Donna was known as a woman of great love and kindness having a great sense of humor and tremendous generosity.
Donna is survived by her three sons Bill Cooper, Steve Cooper and Chris Thorn (Shenan). Her precious grandchildren Stephanie Cooper-Barnes, Matthew Cooper, Jacob Cooper, Benjamin Cooper, Hanah Schrader and Kya Thorn, and great grandchildren Isaiah, Gabby, Samsun, and Titus, three sisters, Nina Barnett, Gladys Lane and Lorayne Barnett, one brother, David Barnet, and numerous close nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jerry Barnett.
Memorial services will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with her son, Steve, officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
