Mary Ellen Shively LaMarr Ivy, age 82 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 following an illness.
Mary Ellen was born on September 18, 1932 to the late Jacob Amos Shively and Ethel Hester Lamb in Joplin. She was raised in "New Addition" just north of Joplin, working hard all her life. Mary was a loving sister, aunt, mother and grandmother, taking care of her family's every need. She worked at Keller's BBQ, and later as an inspector at Miller's Manufacturing. She loved her pets, going to church, arts & crafts and gardening.
Surviving Mary is her brother Raymond Shively, her daughters, Judi Ekhoff & husband, Larry: Teresa Parker & husband, Tim: sons, Tim LaMarr & wife, Tracey, Roy Ivy and wife, Cindy; and Phillip Ivy; grandchildren, Shadron and Joanna Ekhoff, Ryan and Simin Ekhoff, James LaMarr, Jaden LaMarr, Adam Parker and Toni, Eric Parker and Savanna, and Kaylee Wright and Mac; 10 great-grandchildren and many, many extended family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Ivy Jr.; brother, Amos Shively and a sister, Martha Jane Neff.
Graveside services are planned for Wednesday, May 27th at 11:00 A.M. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. Family will receive friends Tuesday between 6-7:00 P.M. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Independent Living Center, Joplin, MO.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
