Larry David Black, age 66 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Larry was born July 5, 1948 to the late Lee Black and Mildred Margaret Wells Black in Joplin. He graduated from Joplin High School with class of 1967. He later attended classes at Missouri Southern State College. Larry served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Later, Larry worked for Allgeier Martin as a surveyor for many years. Larry also was a reserve officer for the Newton County Sherriff's Department. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Joplin.
He is survived by a special friend of many years, Peggy Watkins of Joplin; sons, Michael Black and wife Tammy of Belle Vista, Arkansas, Daniel Walker of Willard, Missouri; brother, Steve Black and wife Chris of Carl Junction; sisters, Donna Wilson and husband Alvin of Joplin, Kathy Soza and husband Larry of California; 2 grandkids and many extended family and friends.
There will be no formal services at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
