Barbara Jean Martin, 83, passed away July 13, 2017.
Barbara was born on August 13, 1933 in Topeka, Kansas to Zelma (Newcum) and Charles Jacobson. She attended Rosedale High School and graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1951.
Barbara married Donald Jean Martin on December 15, 1956. He preceded her in death. She is survived by three children, Donald Scott Martin of Kansas City, MO, Nancy Martin (Dace) of Springfield, MO. And Amy R. Thomlinson (Scott) of Diamond, MO. Six grandchildren: Abby Miller, Dace Miller, Andrew Miller, Prescott Thomlinson, Guy Thomlinson, and Malcolm Thomlinson. She also has a great granddaughter, Eva.
Barbara worked at Webb City High School for several years. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Webb City for 60 years. She was thrilled to be a member of Webb City’s Grubby Gardeners. The family would like to give a special thanks to her hospice nurse, Toni Johnson.
Memorial services will be held on July 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Central United Methodist Church in Webb City. Private interment will follow.
