Bill Mitchell

Billy ‘Bill’ D. Mitchell, 83, Fairview, Missouri, entered into rest on July 15, 2017 in Springfield, following an extended illness. 

Bill was born Oct. 23, 1933 in Washburn, Missouri, the son of Jesse and Sallie (Mahurin) Mitchell. He was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a mechanic for Vaughn’s Construction in Monett, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed working and fishing. 

Bill and Barbara (Rowe) were married on Feb. 25, 1952 in Butterfield and she survives. Additional survivors include a daughter, Becky McNeill and husband, Nolan of Wheaton, MO; two grandchildren, Chris Shockley and Adria McNeill-Deditius; six great grandchildren; one brother, Tom Mitchell and wife, Mary of Fairview and two sisters, Hilma Hines and husband, J.D. of Powell and Shirley McKinley of Pineville. He is preceded in death by his son, Ricky Mitchell and his parents. 

Services will be held on Wed., July 19, 2017 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Tony Intessimone will officiate. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery and those serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Mitchell, Gene Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Ethen Allen, Clyde Tuttle and Dwight Terry. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
