Dorothy Bell

Dorothy Helen Bell, 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at home in Daphne, Alabama.

Dorothy was born on June 16, 1928 in Rogers, Arkansas, the daughter of Joseph and Ethel “Knight” Henman. She was a longtime resident of Joplin, Missouri and was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother (Grams). She co-owned several businesses with her husband, enjoyed traveling, was a longtime member of Second Assembly of God and Faith Assembly of God where she was active in church work and especially enjoyed teaching.

She married Darius L. Bell on September 1, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2009. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Drenda Stoner on February 11, 2017, daughter in law, Dianna Bell on March 26, 2012, her parents and brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Dan Bell and wife Patty of Ozark, Missouri, Doug Bell of Joplin, Missouri, son-in-law, Harlin Stoner of Daphne, Alabama, one brother Jay Henman, Reno, Nevada, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God with visitation at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Larry Griffin will officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale, Alabama and Mason Woodard Mortuary and Crematory in Joplin, Missouri.
