Jewell Irelan

Jewell Irelan, age 89 of Webb City, Missouri passed away Monday July 24, 2017 at Spring River Christian Village with family by her side.

She was born October 2, 1927 in Webb City, Missouri to Adolphus and Ruby (Martin) Riggs.

Jewell lived in Webb City most of her life. She worked at Elder’s Shirt Factory, the Cigar Factory, and the Clothing Mart, but her full time job was making a good home for her family. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Webb City, Missouri. She was very involved with VBS and was a member of The Club.

She married Martin on October 5, 1945 in Columbus, Kansas and he preceded her in death on September 1, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Melvin Riggs, Dolphus Riggs, and Gary Riggs.

Jewell is survived by two daughters, Debbie Wynne and husband Don, Webb City, Missouri, Anita Colba and husband Chad, Carthage, Missouri; one brother Larry Riggs, Waxahachie, Texas; two sisters, Darlene Malen and husband Charlie, Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Shirley Bunch and husband Jim, Smyrna, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Stacy Wynne, Helena, Montana; Tracy Painter and husband Troy, Webb City, Missouri; Cameron Farmer and husband Billy, Webb City, Missouri; Johnny Little and wife Twyla, Diamond, Missouri; Heath Little and wife Dana, Carthage, Missouri; Jacob Colba, Three Forks, Montana; eight great grandchildren, Zack Painter, Caitlyn Stewart and husband Andrew, Jakob Farmer, Kyle Painter, Andrew Little, Hailey Little, Emma Farmer and Joshua Wynne-Hudson; and two great great grandchildren, Sam Stewart and Ezra Stewart.

Those gentlemen honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are, Johnny Little, Heath Little, Jacob Colba, Andrew Little, Zack Painter, Jakob Farmer, and Kyle Painter.



Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday July 28, 2017 at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 -7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
