Ray Gollhofer

Ray Gollhofer, 89, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in the comfort of his home.

Ray was born on August 14, 1927 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to the union of the late Victor and Mary Isabel (Carmichael) Gollhofer. Ray was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School and also served proudly in the United States Navy. On April 16, 1950 he was united in marriage to Mary "Frankie" Campbell, together they shared sixty seven years. In 1948 Ray began working for Standard Oil of Indiana in Wyoming, as an Oil Field Professional. From 1966 until 1974 he worked in Alaska, later relocating to Colorado, and Oklahoma. After more than thirty seven years, Ray retired and returned To Sarcoxie, Missouri. He enjoyed fly fishing, bird hunting and his farm, as well as spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elizabeth Palmer, Ada Belle Lancaster, Richard Gollhofer, Roy Gollhofer, James Gollhofer and Paul Gollhofer.

Ray is survived by his wife Mary, of the home; son, William Gollhofer and wife, Michele, of Aurora, Colorado; two grandchildren, Matt Gollhofer, and Rachel Puckett and husband, Joel, of Aurora, Colorado; one great grandson, Bastian Puckett; sisters-in-law, Mary Gollhofer and Eulah Gollhofer; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.



Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri with Pastor Eric Roach officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sarcoxie Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Matt Gollhofer, David Lancaster, Stephen Gollhofer, Drew Gollhofer, Dave Lawyer and Patrick Goodnight. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Fullerton, Charlie Carpenter, Dale Reynolds, Jim Kennedy, and Debbie Royce. The family has requested memorial contributions be directed to Inch at a Time and may be left at the funeral home.
