Ethel Viola Abshier, 87 of Carthage, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in Cassville, Missouri.
She was born February 23, 1930 in Proctor, Oklahoma to Roy Leonard and Anna (Terry) Phillips. Ethel was a homemaker. Ethel was united in marriage to Orval Abshier on April 11, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2012.
Survivors include four sons, Larry Abshier, Rick Abshier both of Ceres, California, Jerry Abshier of Jasper, Missouri, and Leroy Abshier of Cassville, Missouri. One daughter, Janice Blackford of Duesquene, Missouri. Two brothers, Roy Phillips of Evansville, Arkansas, and Gerald Phillips of Cane Hill, Arkansas. Three sisters, Norma Strait of Carthage, Missouri, Joan Welch and Carmon Munyon, both of Lincoln, Arkansas. Nine grandchildren and six great-granchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in Fidelity Cemetery. The body will lie in state on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Weng Funeral Chapel in Jasper, Missouri.
