Anneta Wagner

Anneta ‘Lucy’ Wagner, 92, Neosho, entered into rest on Sept. 25, 2017 at Communities of Wildwood Ranch in Joplin, following declining health.

 Anneta was born July 25, 1925 in Randolph County, Missouri, the daughter of George J. and Effie E. (Myers) Foster. She graduated from High School as salutatorian and attended Ozark Bible College, where she met her future husband, Robert D. Wagner. She worked in retail sales as a bookkeeper and later as manager. She had lived all over the United States and moved to Neosho in 2003 from New Bloomfield, MO. Anneta enjoyed reading historical romance novels, crocheting and traveling and was known to many as ‘The Card Lady’. She was a member of the High Street Christian Church. 

Anneta and Robert D. Wagner were married on Nov. 15, 1945 in Joplin, by Robert’s brother in law, Delmar Freeman. Robert preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2012. She is survived by four children, Joy Wood of Joplin; Jan Carman and husband, Dennis of Owingsville, KY; Judith Wagner of Springfield and James Wagner and wife, Cathy of Louisville, KY; sister in law, Juanita Moulton of South Dakota; fourteen granddaughters, one grandson and twenty eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Georgia and son in law, Jim Wood.

Services will be Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Pastor David Powell will officiate. Private interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to High Street Christian Church or Show Me Children’s Youth Home, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P. O. Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
