Thomas Rush

Thomas Lester Rush, 73, of Carthage passed away at 12:38 a.m. Tuesday September 5, 2017 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Tom was born May 26, 1944 in Wenatchee, WA. He was the son of Lester Rush and Mary Juanita Everhart. Tom has lived in Carthage most of his married life. He was a self- employed truck driver. Tom was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Nazarene Church.

Tom was united in marriage to Linda Lee on February 9, 1965 in Carthage. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons Dusty Rush of Neosho, MO and David Pennington of Alabama, two daughters Ronda Freelend (Allen) of Carthage and Lynnette Watson (Alan) of Lamar, three brothers Bill Rush of Carl Junction, MO Ronald “Jerry” Rush (Joanne) of Oceanside, CA and Terry Rush (Barbara) of New Braunfels, TX, one sister Betty Pierce (Dave) of Carthage, six grandchildren and one great grandson. Tom was preceded in death by two brothers Donald Rush and Arthur “Larry” Rush and one sister Dixie Pennington. 

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday September 8, 2017 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com
