Elly Liebenguth

(From Dickey Funeral Home)

Elly Marie Liebenguth of Garden City, Missouri was born March 18, 1999 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Scott Allen and Cynthia Ann (Wibbenmeyer) Liebenguth. She went into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri from injuries sustained in an automobile accident at the age of 18 years, 6 months and 2 days.

Elly was a student in the honors program at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. She was a 2017 graduate of Sherwood High School, where she was an honor student and a member of the National Honor Society as well as the FFA. Elly was a member of the Heart of Life Church, Garden City. Elly loved to hunt, fish, shop, and had a passion for training dogs. Elly had a heart for mission trips and traveled to many places where she found joy in caring for orphans. Elly’s love for people fostered a dream within her to become a nurse. She was the kind of young woman that was adored by everyone who met her and would light up any room that she walked into with her funny, kind and compassionate personality. Her life could not be saved as God had greater plans for her. Elly will be greatly missed but her legacy will live on through the lives she saved as an organ donor.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Wibbenmeyer and paternal grandfather, Richard Liebenguth.
