Otto Parish

Otto Parish Jr., age 78, on September 23, 2017 peacefully passed away, at his home surrounded by his family.

Otto was born on December 17, 1938 in Camdenton, Mo., the son of the late Otto and Burleigh (Byler) Parish. He married Glenda Parish on April 18, 1957 in Chanute, Ks., together they raised five children. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

His career included ten years with Ford Motor Co. in KC and 45 years as a Carpenter/General contractor. Otto dedicated his life as a Minister in several of the Gospel of Peace, and Gospel Tabernacle churches in the U.S., Israel & Jamaica. He loved spending time with his family & friends. He was a true people person. He enjoyed fishing, puzzles of all types, and was a fan of the K.C. Chiefs, K.C. Royals and Webb City Cardinals.

He is survived by the love of his life of sixty plus years, Glenda Parish, Joplin; five children, Karen Brown and husband Bob, Webb City, Mo., Sharon Allman and husband Russ Heavener, Derby, Ks., David Parish, Joplin Mo., Cathy Fieker and husband Doug, Duenweg, Mo., Tammy Henson and husband Jon, Diamond, Mo.; one brother, Joe Parish and wife Doris, Purmela, Tx.; one sister, Joyce Herndon, Sunrise Beach, Mo.; nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren & numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Kelly Allman; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Parish, brothers, Jimmie Parish and Gene Parish, and sister, Janice Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 300 Pennsylvania Webb City, Mo. Ministers Bud Ridener and Joe Myers, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The pallbearers will be his grandsons; Jason Green, Josh Larson, Travis Parish, Justin Parish, Michael Green, Timothy Enayati, Jonathan Green, Tyler Sargent, and Jake Henson. Honorary pallbearer will be Colton Fieker.

The visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be given to The University of Kansas Cancer Center in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
