Charles Robeson

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Charles Ernest Robeson, 72, passed away from a heart condition while fishing on Indian Creek on Friday, September 1, 2017. Born in Anderson, Missouri to Charles Anderson Robeson and Myrtle Joyce (Spencer) Robeson, he was a lifelong resident of Anderson and loved that his hometown felt like a large family.

Affectionately called “Papa” to his grandchildren, whom he couldn't be more proud of and loved showing them off every chance he got. Charles was truly one of a kind and never met a stranger. He loved fishing, hunting, music, playing guitar, gardening and most of all, being with his family and friends. He was a dedicated member of New Bethel Church, was passionate about his faith and greatly valued his church community.

Charles is survived by his wife and best friend, Sue "Susie" Robeson. They shared a life together for 39 years and enjoyed dancing, singing and fishing together. Sue and Charles not only depended on each other, but they also enjoyed each other's company. The two spent at least one night a week with their group of friends singing karaoke and sharing laughs. He was survived by his son, Andy Robeson and wife, Clare of Carthage, MO and daughters, Angie Williams and husband, Zeb of Anderson, MO, Tina Kernell and husband Russ of Smithville, TN; four step daughters, Tammy Samuels, Misty Curtis, Lori Scott and Christy Johnson. Charles was also survived by six siblings, Frances Myers, Mary Ann Thurman, Mildred Joyce Wilson, Ethel Harrah, Eva Harris, and Larry Robeson; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 6 at 10 AM at Ozark Funeral Home, with Brother Bob Wilson and Brother Ronnie Tosh officiating.
