Kay Egbert

Linda “Kay” Egbert, 75, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her residence in Columbia. She was born in Los Angeles, California on September 18, 1941 the daughter of Harry Jack Holt and Eva Bernice (Osborn) Holt. On April 29, 1989 in Columbia, Missouri she was united in marriage to Chris Egbert who survives at their home.

Kay was a 1959 graduate of Joplin High School in Joplin, Missouri. After graduation, Kay became a Certified Court Reporter and was employed as such until her retirement in 2001. She was a member of The King’s Daughters & Sons, the Columbia Garden Club and the Certified Court Reporters Association. In her spare time, Kay enjoyed scrapbooking and cake decorating. Other pastimes that Kay loved were playing cards and Mahjong with friends.

Kay is survived by her husband of 28 years: Chris; her daughters: Kari Walker-Spence of Georgia; Coco Chanel (Shih-Tzu) of Columbia; step-daughter: Michele Egbert-Nichols of Columbia; step-son: Jesse Egbert of Ashland; her daughter in law: Michelle Walker of Georgia; her brother: Frankie Martorana of Kansas; her step sister: Peggy Holt of California; and 8 grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her son: Doug Walker of Georgia; and her brother Larry Holt of Joplin, MO.

A Celebration of Life will be occurring on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary located at 1502 South Joplin Avenue, Joplin, MO 64804.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to King’s Daughters Home 620 W. Boulevard Street, Mexico, MO 65265.
