Betty Frazier

Betty F. Frazier, 82, Carthage, entered into rest on Sept. 27, 2017 in Carthage, surrounded by her loving family. 

 Betty was born Dec. 10, 1934 in Mountain View, OK, the daughter of Jasper ‘Sandy’ and Ferol (Fullerton) Hoover. She moved to the southwest Missouri area in 1971 from California, moved to Branson in 1997 following retirement and then returned to the Carthage area in 2015. Betty had a lifelong love of music and taught in the Granby – East Newton Schools as well as teaching private voice and piano lessons. She shared her talent serving as choir director, music director, pianist and organist at the United Methodist Church in Blue Eye and Granby, where she was a member. She enjoyed traveling, but her greatest joy was being with her children and grandchildren. 

 Betty and Deuane Frazier were married on June 23, 1956 in Mt. View, Oklahoma and he survives. Additional survivors are four children, Cheryl Frazier and partner, Karen of Maumelle, Arkansas; Kevin Frazier and wife, Kandy of Reeds, Missouri; Keith Frazier and wife, Shawna of Lees Summit, Missouri and Lisa Duncan and husband, Deon of Bridge City, Texas; one brother, Phil Hoover and wife, Mary of Mt. View, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Glen, J. D. and Frank Hoover.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Pastor Jack D. Smith will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm at the Helphrey Cemetery in Taneyville, Missouri and serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Frazier, Keith Frazier, Deon Duncan, Drew Frazier, Heath Frazier and David Heilbrun. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the Clark Funeral Home in Granby from 6 to 7 pm. Contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the Epworth Children’s Home, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 26, Granby, Missouri 64844.
